Overcoming Anxiety

CommuniTEA Catchup with Jade from The Fulfilment Project: Overcoming anxiety.
Wouldn’t you love it if you could make it to CommuniTEA every week!?
We get it , life gets in the way and next thing you know Monday has come and gone and you missed your fave Perth wellness Queen giving her inspo talk.
Don’t worry! At Clear Mind Studio we’ve got your back!
CommuniTEA Catchup is a summery of what went down at CommuniTEA and how you can contact the host to find out more!
This week ComminiTEA was hosted by Jade from the Fulfilment Project. Here is a summery of what we talked about plus some extra questions I asked Jade. If you loved her talk, I’d love to hear your feedback.
1. What do you do and why do you do what you do?
I am a Occupational Therapist and Personal Trainer who uses Fitness as a form of therapy for Mental Health! I love what I do. It brings me so much joy when I see how happy someone is after a fitness session- one where it’s about feeling good and not about getting that “bikini body”. I also do this because when I see clients have that “uh huh!!” moment in regards to issues they are facing. Being able to help facilitate the moment of clarity is what helps drive my passion.
2. Who inspires you?
It is actually one of my good friends. She works in Mental Health as a Social Worker...and has been through some life altering events. She decided to move away and start a fresh life helping disadvantaged youth. She did something that pushes her outside of her comfort zone and found her passion whilst doing it. She is an absolute inspiration to me!
3. What’s your favourite inspirational quote?
“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become” - Carl Jung
4. What are your values and passions?
My passions are helping people with Mental Health conditions, advocating for Occupational Therapy in the Mental Health scene, and using exercise as a form of therapy. My values are loyalty, compassion, and independence.
5. Can you give me a brief summary of what you talked about at CommuniTEA
Here are some key points:
Stress & Anxiety:
- We all experience Stress at some point, but too much of it affects our health. Anxiety is not stress- it is a Mental Health Condition and it can be diagnosed by a Psychologist or Psychiatrist.
- Anxiety is debilitating and can affect any area of life ( work, leisure, relationships, communication, roles, school, health)
- Some symptoms of Anxiety can include lethargy, ruminating, constant worry, panic attacks, paranoia, avoidance, withdrawal, reacting as opposed to responding
Anxiety Strategies:
- Some included breathing exercises, colouring mandalas, mindfulness, tense and relax exercises, CBT and thought challenging, physical exercise, gratitude, STOP technique, and random acts of kindness.
The main point that Jade wanted people to know that “You are MORE than your Anxiety”, and you can live with it and still have a beautiful life!
6. What do you have planned for 2020
2020 I will be running more workshops! Topics around Anxiety and Self-Love! I also will be continuing to run my Monthly Wellness Sessions and 1:1 Holistic Personal Training Sessions! Plus....visiting Clear Mind Studio and detoxing away in the Sauna haha
7.
Where can my followers find you/ get in contact with you and please add in any links to anything you chatted about.
