5 Alternative Valentines Dates

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner (where did January go ??!) we thought we’d share with you some alternative ideas for ‘healthy mind’ date nights, whether it’s a date with yourself, your partner, your friends or your family.

I’ve never been a fan of the traditional, ‘dinner on Valentine’s Day’. Jammed in so close you can hear another couple’s convo’s and being forced to pick from an overpriced ‘special’ set menu. Not my idea of romance.  So, here’s some suggestions for healthy date nights, where you can really connect with your partner and become a more conscious Casanova ...

1.     Infrared sauna

At Clear Mind Studio our sauna rooms are for exclusive use, so you and your partner can enjoy some alone time, sweat away your toxins, and connect with deep conversation in your own private en-suite infrared room. Leaving your phone outside will help you both connect without the distractions of digital technology.

2.     Couples floating

Couples floating is a great way to reconnect with your partner and share the experience of nothingness - together. At Clear Mind Studio, we will have a large 2.5m diameter open float pool, ideal for two people to float at the same time. A unique experience for you to share. We all know when we love and care for ourselves we exude attractiveness in every area of our lives.  Floatation therapy helps you tune out distractions and be present with the moment, bringing your mind back to your partner. Floating can also lead to some interesting insights on a personal, emotional, and spiritual level that really opens up the conversation.

3.     Yoga class

The benefits of yoga go above and beyond the mental, physical and spiritual. Delve into the values of self care as a form of love. Let your practice deepen your knowledge of love and enrich your ability to share it with your partner. Yoga helps you become more acquainted with your body and what makes you tick— and the more comfortable you are with yourself, the more confident and comfortable you can be with someone else.

4.     Sound healing

Our biggest critic can be the one we hear in our own heads. A date with sound healing to silence your inner critic can be a powerful player in a relationship.  An hour laying on a mat next to your partner while listening to relaxing frequencies, opens your heart chakra and helps you silence your inner critic. This process can make you more open to receiving love. Sound healing can also be a powerful way to open up emotions and deepen relationships.

5.    A Date With Yourself

But what if you’re not in a relationship or your partner is away this V day? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered too. All the above dates are even more awesome experienced on your own, cause we all know that self-care is the highest form of love. When we start to love ourselves we open up extensive possibilities of being loved. So why not love yourself a little more by taking YOU on a solo date night.

And if you need a little self-care help, then our lovely friend Alyssa Is holding a “love yourself” themed jungle body class on Valentine’s Day, so get the girls together and shake your butt to happiness and pumping tunes. Click here to find out more.
