About us
If your plate is permanently full — work, kids, the never-ending mental list — and the idea of an actual hour to yourself feels a bit unrealistic, you're exactly who we built Clear Mind Studio for.
We're Karen and Craig, and we get it because we've lived it. A six-year IVF journey, the long tail of Craig's earlier cancer treatment, and a few too many years of just keeping going. On paper we were fine. Underneath, we were stressed, burnt out and running on empty.
For us, floating helped. So did infrared saunas, and getting on the massage table where we didn't have to make small talk. An hour at a time, our nervous systems started to regulate.
The penny dropped pretty quickly — if we needed this, plenty of other people did too. People who weren't athletes or yogis or "wellness types". Just regular hard working people. Carrying too much, with no real space to put any of it down.
So in 2019 we opened our first Clear Mind Studio in Inglewood. We gutted the building down to the bones and rebuilt it ourselves, with my mum and dad over from Scotland helping paint walls. In July 2024 we opened our second in Fremantle, in a building that — funnily enough — was the first place I ever floated.
Between the two studios you'll find floats, infrared saunas, ice baths, Finnish saunas and a really lovely massage team. Saunas are my favourite. Floats are Craig's.
Clear Mind is for busy people. Parents, professionals, FIFO workers, carers, business owners — anyone whose nervous system has been stuck in the "on" position for a bit too long. You don't need a reason to come in. You don't need to call yourself a wellness person. Booking an hour for yourself is the reason. And it makes the perfect gift for all the busy people in your life too.
What started as an idea between us has grown into two studios, a team of 25, and a couple of awards we never saw coming — Fremantle Business of the Year, and Mindbody's Australian Wellness Business of the Year. None of which we take for granted.
Come and clear your mind. You'll be amazed what a difference it makes.
