Couples Float Therapy in Perth: What to Expect at Clear Mind Studio Inglewood
When was the last time you and your partner actually switched off together?
Not sitting on the sofa scrolling your phones. Not watching Netflix while one of you answers emails. Not going out for dinner and spending half the night talking about work, kids or everything you need to do tomorrow.
We mean properly switched off.
For an entire hour.
That’s exactly what a couples float gives you.
At Clear Mind Studio Inglewood, our couples float room lets you float together in one shared open float pool.
No phones. No notifications. No jobs to do.
Just an hour where absolutely nobody needs anything from either of you.
If you’ve never floated before, here’s exactly what to expect.
What Is a Couples Float?
A couples float lets two people float together in one shared open float pool in a private room.
At our Inglewood studio, we have a dedicated couples float room with an open double float pool.
So you’re together, sharing the pool and some time to completely switch off.
Inside the pool is warm water containing a high concentration of Epsom salts, which makes your body incredibly buoyant.
You simply lie back and float.
There’s no swimming.
No holding yourself up.
No technique to master.
And definitely nothing you need to achieve.
The idea is actually the complete opposite.
For once, you get to do absolutely nothing.
Why Float as a Couple?
Because when was the last time both of you stopped at exactly the same time?
That’s harder than it sounds.
Usually one person is relaxing while the other is answering an email, making dinner, putting the kids to bed or thinking about tomorrow.
A couples float creates a little pocket of time where you both step away from normal life together.
You arrive together.
You put the phones away together.
You float at the same time.
And you come back into the world together.
It makes a couples float particularly lovely for busy parents, couples with demanding jobs or anyone who feels like life lately has become more logistics than actual quality time.
And unlike a date night, nobody has to organise much.
There’s no restaurant to choose.
No conversation to keep going.
No decision about what to do next.
You just turn up.
We take care of the rest.
What Is the Couples Float Room Like?
Privacy is a big part of the experience at Clear Mind Studio.
Our Inglewood couples float room is completely private, with your shared open float pool and shower facilities inside your treatment space.
You’re not walking around a large communal bathhouse in robes or sharing your relaxation space with a room full of strangers.
That’s deliberate.
We call Clear Mind Studio a day spa for the mind, and we want you to actually be able to switch off when you’re here.
The couples room gives you the shared experience without taking away the privacy and quiet that makes floating so relaxing in the first place.
What Happens When You Arrive?
If it’s your first float, don’t worry. You don't need to know what you're doing.
Our team will show you through your room, explain how everything works and answer any questions before leaving you to enjoy the space privately.
Then it’s time to get ready.
Step 1: Shower
You’ll shower before entering the float pool.
We provide what you need for your session, so you don’t need to arrive with a bag full of things.
Step 2: Get into the pool
You both step into the shared open float pool, lie back and let the salt water support you.
You can take a little time to get comfortable.
Some people settle immediately.
Others spend the first few minutes wondering whether they’re “doing it right”.
You are.
There really isn't anything else you're supposed to be doing.
Step 3: Switch off
Your float itself lasts approximately 60 minutes.
This is your time.
Some people fall asleep.
Some meditate.
Some think about absolutely everything for the first 15 minutes and then suddenly realise their brain has gone quiet.
Others simply enjoy lying somewhere that nobody can contact them.
There’s no correct way to float.
Step 4: Shower and take your time
At the end of your session, you'll get out and rinse the salt water off in your private shower.
And then try not to immediately grab your phone.
Give yourselves a minute.
One of the nicest parts of floating together is that neither person has spent the past hour dealing with normal life.
You’ve both had the same uninterrupted break.
What Does Floating Feel Like?
This is probably the hardest part to explain until you've actually experienced it.
The high concentration of Epsom salts means your body floats with very little effort.
Once you find a comfortable position, you don't have to hold yourself up or constantly adjust yourself in the way you would lying in bed or on the sofa.
And because there’s very little demanding your attention, the experience can become incredibly quiet.
For some people, that’s immediate.
For others, it takes a little while for their brain to get the memo.
If your mind is racing during the first few minutes, don't assume floating isn't working for you.
You're probably just experiencing something you don't get very often:
nothing to do.
Give yourself time to settle.
Do We Float in the Same Pool?
Yes.
At Clear Mind Studio Inglewood, you float together in one shared open double float pool in your own private room.
You’re not in separate pods.
The pool is large enough for two people to float together, so you can share the experience with your partner.
And because it’s an open pool, there’s no lid or enclosed pod.
Do You Have to Float in the Dark?
No.
You're in control of your experience.
If you're both completely comfortable switching everything off, you can.
If you'd rather keep some light on while you settle in, that's completely fine too.
There's no prize for making your float as dark as possible.
The goal is for you to relax.
What If I’m Claustrophobic?
This is one of the most common questions we get from first-time floaters.
Our couples float uses an open float pool, not an enclosed pod.
There’s no lid to close, and you don't have to force yourself to float in a way that makes you uncomfortable.
If you're nervous, tell our team when you arrive.
We'll show you exactly how everything works before your session starts so you know what to expect.
What Do We Need to Bring?
Very little.
In fact, that's kind of the point.
You don't need special equipment or anything fancy for your float.
We recommend arriving without lots of jewellery and giving yourself enough time that you don't feel rushed.
Most importantly, try not to book something stressful immediately afterwards.
Give yourselves some breathing room.
Is a Couples Float a Good Date Idea?
We might be slightly biased here, but yes.
Particularly if you've reached the stage of life where your idea of romance is someone giving you an uninterrupted hour.
A couples float works beautifully for:
-
anniversaries
-
birthdays
-
date days
-
busy parents who desperately need a break
-
couples who want something different from dinner and drinks
-
people who value experiences over more stuff
But you absolutely don't need a special occasion.
“It's been a ridiculous week and we both need an hour where nobody can contact us” is a perfectly valid reason.
Possibly the best one.
Can I Give a Couples Float as a Gift?
Absolutely.
Experiences make particularly good gifts for couples because you're giving them something they might not necessarily book for themselves.
Our Couples Getaway is another option if you want to give them more than a single treatment and turn it into a proper wellness experience.
It's a lovely anniversary, wedding, birthday or Christmas gift, especially for the couple who already seems to own everything.
Can We Make a Day of It?
Definitely.
You can keep things simple and just come in for your couples float, or combine your visit with another treatment and make it more of a reset.
Clear Mind Studio also offers massage, infrared sauna and private ice bath and Finnish sauna experiences.
So if you've finally managed to organise childcare or clear your schedules at the same time, you may as well make the most of it.
Where Can You Book a Couples Float in Perth?
Our dedicated couples float is available at Clear Mind Studio Inglewood.
If you're specifically searching for a couples float in Perth, make sure you select the couples float option when booking rather than booking two individual floats.
That ensures you're booked into our dedicated couples room together.
And because there is only limited couples availability, booking ahead is a good idea if you have a particular date or time in mind.
Ready to Switch Off Together?
Life is busy.
And sometimes even the time you're supposed to spend together isn't really time together.
You're checking phones.
Talking about work.
Organising the kids.
Planning tomorrow.
A couples float gives you something surprisingly difficult to find:
an hour where neither of you has to do anything.
Come in together.
Put the phones away.
Close the door on everything else for a while.
And just float.
